Reindeer Farm Porohaka and Villa Vasa - Rovaniemi

Very nice tour with Katja. She takes all the time to tell everything about the reindeers, and you have all the time to feed the animals. She is in the fourth generation farming these animals, and clearly knows everything about this. She always makes sure that the group is very small (in our case we were with 4 persons only), to make sure that the animals are comfertable and at ease. We would definately recommend to do the tour to anybody!

We had a magical experience at this beautiful reindeer farm. We were picked up at our hotel as part of a small group and driven to the countryside where we met the kind farm owners, Katja and her husband.There is no mass-tourism dehumanising experience here. This is the reindeer farm visit for those seeking the real deal": a sustainable small family farm where the animals are treated with love and respect.Katya provided winter overalls and took us by snowmobile to meet and feed the beautiful reindeers. She explained to us their lifecycle and showed concern for the climate and economic changes threatening small holdings which are part of her community life -- but always sounding optimistic and proud. That in itself was touching and remarkable.We were then treated to a soul-warming lunch at her house

Vietettiin neljä yötä Villassa isolla kansainvälisellä kaveriporukalla. Aivan mieletön paikka upeilla maisemilla, ja kaikki puitteet löytyy monenlaista talvitekemistä myöten lähistöltä. Porotila-vierailu oli aito ja sydäntä (ja vatsaa)lämmittävä kaikkien mielestä. <3 Iso kiitos Katjalle ja muille porotilalla!

Transportation was timely. Owners of farm are kind and nice . Provided us with winter clothings and boots to keep us very warm. The feeding of the reindeers was a memorable experience. The sleigh ride was nice and enjoyable and we also ate nice reindeer soup with bread and cakes in the comfort of their home. They taught us how to set up fire the finnish way and we are grateful for the entire experience.

We went to the reindeer farm Porohaka during our stay in Lapland. It was one of the best tour that we had. We fed the reindeers during the morning. Katia answered to all of our questions and told us a lot about the farm and the reindeers. Then, we had a very good meal before the reindeer sleigh ride. We finished the day with a hot chocolate and the best blueberry pie. It was such a great experience with lovely people. If you need to choose only one activity, choose this one

If you only go for one activity during your visit to Rovaniemi - you should choose this one! We got to spend a day with Katja, her family and coworkers in the winter wonderland at the farm and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We learnt a lot about the reindeers and it was so nice to be able to feed and pet them ☺️ Katja served us a delicious lunch (including a very tasty vegetarian alternative to the reindeer soup) and answered all our questions about reindeers and life at the farm. An unforgettable experience that I would recommend to everyone!
