We went on a canoeing trip of 6 days in July ’22 in Kolovesi National park. This was going to be our first multiday canoeing trip and our first time camping bushcraft style. We did not know what to expect but we had a great time.Mikko and his mate Justin where great guides. They were very enthusiast and had a lot of stories to tell. They are also very patience in explaining stuff (took my forever to find out how to do a certain knot), also when we didn’t got steering with the cannoning down they were very patient with explaining had had good advice. During the whole trip they made sure that everybody in the group was happy. For the days with bad weather the had some emergency chocolate to lift the spirits!It showed that both really enjoyed being outside and sharing the knowledge, there enthusiasm is very contagiously.Kolovesi National park is very nice national park with great nature and you could go a whole day without seeing anybody.The food during the trip was also great. No dry food but stews, pasta and other stuff they could carry in the limited storage space. The really put a effort in it and gave inspiration to prepare ourselves for our further trips.After the week we learned enough to be able to make a canoeing trip for multiple days somewhere in nature. Magnifique expérience vécue avec Mikko durant deux jours de trek en ce mois de février ! Fabuleuse découverte du Parc national de Koli en raquette et en ski de forêt avec Mikko, qui en plus d'être un guide chevronné, est une personne super sympa, chaleureuse et discrète à la fois. Super guide, tolle Landschaften, tolles Essen. Waren für 4 Tage unterwegs und haben viel gesehen. Justin ist nicht nur total ruhig und geduldig, sondern zeigt auch wirklich nützliche Tipps und Tricks für das Leben outdoor. Die Ausrüstung war super! Fazit: ein Urlaub der etwas anderen, aber besonderen Art!

After spending 2 weeks on the Bushcraft courses it is worth to say that it was a true and excellent experience.Mikko is very knowledgeable about the things he teaches and gives beyond technial expertise explanations about their history.The courses were structured and gave the participants the right amount of guidance and freedom for trying things out at the same time.We learned a lot about knife/axe handling&security, nature and what and how to take from it, cooking & baking as well as many other things.The location is also very suitable for his courses and offers a pond for a (morning) swim and supermarket" for fresh fish."

I participated in the Buscraft basics week in Finland, and it was one of the best weeks of my life! Rick and Mikko did a great job of teaching us, we all learned so much and made some friends for life! There is literally nothing bad I can say about this course and the way it is thaught. Good job guys! I’ll see you next year in the advanced course!
