This newly built and modern family reception center is part of the Social Services network of the city of Vantaa. It is divided into two buildings. The one closer to the street houses the offices, meeting rooms and an enclosed playground for kids. The larger building more up on the hill is where the rooms for the families are located.Usually, the maximum allowed period of stay is of 30 days. This center is mainly indicated for moms with kids. Usually the customers are referred here by other agencies, like the children protection agency, in those cases when a concern of the well being of children exist or when there is a concern over the capabilities and resources of the parents in taking care of their own kids. A typical case may be one of a pregnant single mom with kids and no family, relatives or friends network. Shortly before the expected birth day, the mother and the kids will move here so that when the mother will have to go to the hospital to give birth and take care of the newborn, personell on duty will take care of the kids untill the mother returns from hospital.
