We just returned home after a wonderful trip to Vasa, Finland and I thought I would take time to write a review. Not something we normally do, but we wanted to share just a bit of how we experienced our 5-day stay at Aijas Cottages! We are simply savoring the moment, perhaps! In short, what a spot! Our accommodations consisted of a quaint little cottage that provided us with a panoramic and picturesque view of a small piece of the Finnish archipelago. Wherever we found ourselves; whether we were all gathered comfortably in the sofa group, or sitting outside on the spacious deck, or barbequing down at the beach, we always had that same splendid view and the peaceful surroundings in which we could enjoy one another’s company. It was such a wonderful place to make memories, together! We enjoyed a variety of activities; even if it was just watching the gracious movements of a swan couple and their cute little cygnets, or picking some berries to accompany a dish of ice cream. We also had some really nice sunsets, took a trip or two out with the row boat for some fishing, and enjoyed a few invigorating visits to the sauna followed up then, by a dip in the water. We were the two grandparents that shared the cottage with our son, daughter-in law and their two small children. We all slept comfortably and appreciated that the cottages were equipped with AC. We could have spent the whole 5 days right there at this “little oasis”, but even appreciated that Aijas Cottages are located in close proximity to such activities and outings as Tropiclandia, Hoplop and Stundars outdoor museum. The Pandas at Ähtäri Animal Park are just an hour and a half drive away, but they will have to wait until our next trip. Everything was handled expediently in regard to our booking, getting checked in, and the other practicalities. We want to thank Aija and her husband Donald, for providing us with the perfect place to stay for our visit! It was not a five star hotel, of course. Nonetheless, it was the perfect place for our family and we had an absolutely wonderful stay! The affordable price, for sleeping six, was an extra bonus!
