Iittala & Arabia Design Centre | Iittala | Iittala & Arabia Muotoilukeskus on tuonut yhteen kaksi arvostettua muotoilubrändiä historialliseen ARABIA135-kortteliin. Vaikuttavan, 1930-luvulta peräisin olevan rakennuksen 8. kerroksessa Designmuseo Arabia esittelee sekä Iittalan että Arabian rikkaan muotoiluhistorian kirkkaimpia saavutuksia.

It was such a pleasure to visit. I don't know how often the exhibition area and design studio is open to the public, but it was a privilege to be able to visit. We had an incredibly knowledgeable guide and there was so much to learn about the history of Arabia and Iittala even though I know the brands fairly well. My favourite part of the tour was definitely the design studio itself and getting a peak at some of the artists own rooms. Magical and inspirational.

Very kind host, good info about the works and history. If your into ceramics or glass this is a great visit. No entry price and located above a very cozy bar/resto

Hieno moderni kauppakeskus, kahvila ja lounaspaikka. Yläkerrassa upeita Arabian astioita yms. Esineitä museo näyttelyssä, Birger Kaipiaisen upeat värit valloittavat aina, sekä Ruth Brykin reliefit wau mitä värejä!

Hard to find infos about prices and entrance dates. You have to reserve a guided tour wait 2 days for confirmation. Shame Arabia and Iittala. Such an important place in Finnish history… And btw: on the webaite it says that it is open on Sunday 10-16. Right now it is Sunday 14.05P.M. First guided tour is 6 days later. Very sad day for us.

The Museum of Design is free of charge. The exhibition is rather small, I spent there about 20 min. There is some information about Arabia's and Iittala's ceramics and glass products. I am a little bit disappointed that there wasn't nearly any info about the technologies in use, nor anything about production lines. So don't expected to see a factory interiors.

We came here for a bigger selection of Arabia pieces and to see a different part of Helsinki. Easily accessible with tram, and we ended up walking along the waterfront park after our shopping to check out the area. Yes, there are outlets, but nothing was on sale at all, so if you‘re coming for discounts, this is not the place. They did a great job of packing my purchases for carry-on and everything made it home in one piece. I like that they have some „how it‘s made“ displays a d in this location you can also purchase some vintage pieces.
