Wine Maria

I hade a winetasting with Maria! She is such a lovely host who clearly has a great knowledge of wines. Maria created a lovely tasting with an amazing atmosphere for me and my friend’s, cant recommend her enough!!

We took part in Sparkling Wines blind tasting, where we had to guess production countries of each wine. It was very fun and it did broaden our knowledge in different wine types – now I can show off a little bit in front of my friends and family!You won’t get a boring monotone lecture, you yourself won’t get bored either. The host - Maria - is amazing and seems to understand customers’ needs and moods. The whole space and details are just breathing relaxation and positivity!

In a tiny shop, that you might easily miss as you walk by, is a cozy wine room hosted by Maria. You have to sign up on her website for the tasting that you'd like to partake in and then you can relax for a couple hours tasting and learning about different wines. I was worried that it would either be a lecture about wines or the opposite, that we had no guidance, but luckily it was neither. Maria is a great host who really knows about wine and explaining the details of winemaking and the regions it comes from clearly. She encourages participation in the discussion about each wine, but I never felt like I had to say anything. It was lovely to hear what the other participants were smelling and tasting when I couldn't put my finger on it. Maria would then explain why we were smelling what we did, tying everything back to the process of wine making. I'm really looking forward to going back again, hopefully for a blind tasting.

We took part on open wine tasting at Wine Maria’s and it was really nice experience.The tasting took place at Maria’s wine room in the centre of Helsinki. The room is cozy, and the location makes it easy to get there.Maria was presenting 5 different kinds of wines, telling their backgrounds and having nice interaction with the audience. She is easy to talk to and knows the wines and their history.I can really recommend the tastings for everyone!

A very, very knowledgeable sommelier that is able to explain wines even to those with less experience. Both the wines and the experience were absolutely delicious.
