OK Sound is located in the hip district of Kallio, just a few minutes from the Sörnäinen metro station. It is not only a record store; they’re a small cultural centre of the local community. The atmosphere of this place is amazing and the friendly owners are experts in what they do. In addition to records, DJ accessories and music merch (check out the cool t-shirts!), they also offer a curated selection of music-related books.Even though I don’t own a record player, so I am not an LP-buying customer, I visit OK Sound regularly for their events. They often host free in-store gigs on Fridays and Saturdays. I have enjoyed one of the best pre-parties at OK Sound! I recommend to follow them on social media, as the store hosts also a lot of other cultural events, such as art exhibitions and book launches. During those evenings, local artists and culture enthusiasts gather together to hear tracks played by the hottest names of the DJ scene. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends, as well as to network if you’re in the electronic music scene.

Among all record shops in Helsinki, this is the one with a truly unique selection of electronic music. You won't find breakbeat, jungle, oldschool rave, classic trip-hop and techno anywhere else. I find rare and classic records all the time. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well.

Best variety of techno/house vinyl on Helsinki, lots of second hand stuff but they have some fresh and new stuff too. 5/5.
