Cafe Chingon

This is my favorite place to eat at. It is not easy to find authentic Mexican food in Finland, however this cafe does it fantastically. They even have a stamp card that after so many visits gets you a free Mexican specialty. I love the calm atmosphere, music, and lunch specials. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend this cafe.

Delicious tamale and coffee roasted on the spot. Lovely owners, who introduce the most autenthic mexican experience to the Turku coffee and food scene. A genuine and unique place. I will definitely come back for more.

Todella ihana paikka, sydämellistä palvelua ja maistuvia kiinnostavia makuja joita ei muualta Turusta saa! Vegaanisuus otetaan todella hyvin huomioon ja vaihtoehtoja on monta. Yläkerrassa on hyvin lisää asiakaspaikkoja, paikalle mahtuu isommallakin porukalla. Lounas oli maukas ja mieluisa - nyt täytyy päästä kokeilemaan iltamenua ja kahvilapuolta! Tulemme siis ehdottomasti pian uudestaan!

I have been living in Finland for years and this is the only place that has the authentic Mexican flavor, it tastes like 'casa'. The owners are really nice people that take the time to explain you the whole process that takes every dish together with the tradition and story of the dish, I totally recommend it.

I’ve lived years in Mexico and I can say that this café is the only place in Finland that serves REAL Mexican food, the kind that your Mexican grandmother or mother in law makes. I highly recommend it. The owners are super sweet. My Mexican daughter was in heaven eating here. We live in Helsinki but will start travelling to Turku only to eat these sopes and tamales. Delicious.

I had so high expectations after reading all the good reviews about their food. I went for lunch and ordered chicken stew tacos. Meal was overall quite tasteless (the chicken stew, rice, dessert cake was dry).. Maybe today is not their best, maybe I should’ve ordered something else.. I don’t know. :(

The buñuelos are handmade there and were so crispy and tasty. I can recommend. I tried the tamales too, good they had vegetarian options but one was a little bit dry.Hopefully, next time we can try more things like the chilaquiles and the tortilla soup.
